Job details: This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading global legal firm as a Business Development Manager. The role is based in London, but includes an international dimension supporting the EMEA Disputes Section in developing and implementing business development initiatives aimed at building client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, winning new work and positioning and profiling the firm as one of the pre-eminent disputes practices in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with relevant business development colleagues throughout the firm’s network to ensure an integrated disputes offering across EMEA and globally and must help grow the reputation of the Disputes business development team for both its professionalism and for the strategic and distinctive value it gives. The Business Development Manager will provide support in reviewing and implementing practice and client plans, ensuring they are constantly adapted to market conditions and aligned and complementary to the vision of the practice. You will identify new opportunities and markets for the dispute services through the development and implementation of focused action plans and must ensure the market is experiencing a joined up and integrated offering across the region. Maintaining world class processes and infrastructure to support business development efforts and ensuring effective use of all communication channels, including website, e-bulletins, mailing lists, media, sponsorship, conferences, research and industry networks, will be important parts of the role. Providing day to day BD support to the EMEA Disputes Section in a timely and effective manner, you will take a lead role in pitches and proposals for the practice, including the preparation of capability statements as and when required, and you will also be tasked with developing and implementing effective marketing campaigns and thought leadership projects, over-seeing legal directories and awards submissions and project managing client events alongside the events team. For this particular role, it is essential that candidates have a sound track record of business development experience in a law firm, while prior experience and knowledge of working within a Dispute Resolution practice and a relevant marketing or business qualification would be highly desirable. Pragmatic, self-motivated, flexible and able to work both in a team and individually, you should have excellent communication skills, possess the ability to interact with people at all levels and previous demonstrable team and project management experience.
