An international law firm is looking for a talented and experienced Business Development Executive to join its International Energy & Utilities Sector Group, as well as supporting the Infrastructure, Rail and Procurement Groups to develop and drive forward MBD activities. The successful candidate's role will include supporting the development and implementation of the international MBD plan for the Energy & Utilities group as well as providing business development support on related areas including Infrastructure Projects, Procurement and Rail, with flexibility to broaden responsibilities to reflect any changes to the sector/practice groups' structure. This will involve: • Revenue generation: translating insights and ideas into business growth - using market awareness and product knowledge to identify hot topics and trends which support the business development strategy, facilitating cross-selling opportunities with other appropriate sector/practice/country teams, supporting the pitching process, including adhering to the firm's best practice guide, developing and managing associated campaigns and targeting initiatives and ensuring that emphasis is placed on clients in the firm wide Key Client Programme. • Reputation and positioning: going to market in an effective and efficient manner- Developing and driving effective, sustained targeting initiatives and campaigns, maximising the leverage from such initiatives, including social media and PR, leading on event preparation, ensuring that value is derived and recorded and timely engagement in the legal directory and awards submissions process. • Infrastructure, process and principles: delivering first time every time with consistent and rigorous standards -Managing the MBD budget, tracking and reporting on new business leads, developing and maintaining key MBD-related infrastructure, including the intranet, web pages, contact management system, credentials database and pitch related content, and producing marketing materials. The successful candidate will have at least three years' experience of working in a professional services environment, ideally on an international basis, and experience of dealing directly with group heads and key stakeholders. You must have strong commercial awareness, including experience of/an interest in the key legal and commercial issues affecting the Energy & Utilities sector, exposure to the full spectrum of MBD activities, but with specific business development experience including in relation to pitching, targeting and campaigns. You'll have strong writing skills, editing ability and proficiency in MS applications, excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of social media and a willingness to develop skills in this area. You'll be adept at managing budgets and resource, have excellent organisational skills, including project management experience and the ability to identify, manage and deliver against competing priorities. You will have a strong client focus and understanding of the priorities and objectives of both internal and external clients, as well as sensitivity towards culture and personalities, manage the expectations of sector heads and other key stakeholders and forge strong relationships with internal clients and other business services functions, as well as the wider MBD team.
