BD Manager (Banking & Projects) – Global Law Firm – Dubai
Based in Dubai, this role represents an exciting opportunity to join a truly global law firm as a Business Development Manager with responsibility for progressing specific Banking and Projects initiatives.
The role holder will provide focus to the delivery and direction of BD activities, playing a key influencing role with partners on all Banking and Projects business development activities and projects for the firm in the Middle East. You will be expected to demonstrate commerciality when selecting an appropriate marketing service for the brief and provide bespoke solutions and recognising opportunities and being proactive in developing projects to tackle them. Key responsibilities will include working with BD colleagues and fee-earners on pitch opportunities, taking the lead role on and supervising the preparation of strategic proposals, panel pitches and subsequent beauty parades, ensuring the teams follow best practice, capturing proposal outcomes and engaging with fee earners to act upon feedback; working with partners on their client development plans; and managing internal marketing systems and tools, including tracking and reporting marketing budget spend, maintaining effective mailing lists, ensuring the maintenance of intranet and internet pages and coordinating the reporting of statistics on completion of experience records. The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for managing and developing two BD Coordinators including monitoring progress on tasks to ensure the efficient delivery of proposals and marketing initiatives and coaching and mentoring the individuals.
The firm is looking for a commercial and ambitious individual with proven law firm BD experience, including provision of dedicated practice area support, preferably Banking or Projects. Previous team management pitching experience are also prerequisite. In addition, the Business Development will be a well-educated team player, with strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills and must be able to remain professional, proactive, creative, good humoured and enthusiastic whilst working under pressure.
