Business Development Analyst – Leading National Business Advisory Firm
A leading national business advisory firm is looking for a proactive and commercially-minded Business Development Analyst to join their collaborative team in London. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the role holder will play a key part in assisting the London BD team to support Partners in confidently winning new business and retaining existing clients. You will be joining an ambitious, forward looking and highly respected team who aim to continually improve and refine best practice, increase revenue and market share, access new verticals and embed progressive BD skills and mindset across the business. This is a newly created position representing an exciting opportunity to help shape the firm’s BD analysis function and, with a focus on going to market in an intelligent, data driven way, analysing effectiveness and identifying opportunities, will be pivotal in driving the London office strategy. The successful applicant will need to build relationships with other knowledge sources within the firm to gather relevant information and insights and will use internal and external data sources to gather and interpret information to deliver firm, market and competitor analysis and compile and analyse quarterly and annual revenue and WIP reports to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement. Identifying corporate targets, ownership structures, advisors and best routes in, you will take ownership of client research to reveal key issues and topics of interest to meet preferences and develop solutions and will undertake market and competitor research to understand where BD time is best invested, reviewing time recording data to assess the effectiveness of BD time spent. The Business Development Analyst will also be responsible for reviewing historic financial data to identity opportunities to refresh relationships and will support the client programme by analysing financial and engagement data to proactively manage the health of key referrer relationships. Personable and confident with excellent academics or equivalent, the ideal candidate will possess previous experience working in a business intelligence or research team within a professional services firm, financial institution or technology company. You will need to be a proactive team player with first-rate written and oral communication skills combined with strong critical and commercial reasoning and the ability to put together coherent recommendations from a variety of sources. Highly organised and calm under pressure whilst handling multiple priorities within tight timescales, the Business Development Analyst will enjoy taking ownership for and meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment.
