Business Development Assistant – Innovative Law Firm
An innovative U.S. law firm requires an enthusiastic Business Development Assistant to work closely with the lawyers in the firm's London, Madrid and Paris offices.
The Business Development Assistant will work with the Business Development Manager to provide seamless business development support to the European practice. The role holder will be the primary contact for pitching and proposals in Europe and will support all other business development efforts in Europe, including all aspects of business development, marketing, communications and press relations and coordinate additional support and resources as needed with the global Business Development teams in New York, Northern California and Asia. Pitching will constitute an important element of the role with the role holder supporting the preparation of pitches, RFIs and RFPs. You will also track results and prepare responsive reports and analyses incorporating recommendations for increasing effectiveness. From a communications perspective you will be responsible for editing, updating and maintaining practice marketing materials such as practice descriptions, lawyer biographies and content for the website, drafting new material as required, and co-ordinating the scheduling and preparation of draft submissions for legal directories, league tables, awards and related industry guides. In addition, you will participate in the production of client development events, assist in the preparation of statistical data used in competitive analysis and maintain databases and credentials lists for European business development.
The ideal candidate for the role of Business Development Assistant will be a well-educated, proactive team player, with excellent communication and I.T. skills allied with strong attention to detail. You must enjoy managing a varied workload and working under the pressure of deadlines. It is essential that you are persistent and robust, have proven professional services BD experience in a similar role, preferably in a law firm, and possesses both a strong work ethic and the flexibility to meet the demands of this challenging position.
