Based in either London or Paris, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development specialist to join the prominent International Arbitration team of a world leading global law firm. The role would probably suit a strong executive looking for a step up in responsibilities. The International Arbitration group is part of the firm's Global Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice and sits in offices across all the major arbitration centres and throughout the firm's global network, including the UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas, and work together as one cross-border team. The team regularly acts for clients in investment protection arbitration, joint venture and M&A disputes as well as commercial dispute arbitrations in the energy, construction, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, aerospace & defence, banking & finance, insurance & reinsurance, shipping & transport and telecommunications sectors. Operating closely with the partnership, the role holder of this brand new role will sit within the marketing and business development team in London, working with the newly appointed International Arbitration Business Development Lead and interact daily with fee earners in London and across the global team. The Business Development Executive will enjoy a wide ranging role assisting in building and maintaining the firm's credibility in this important legal area, pursuing and winning new business opportunities and retaining and growing existing client relationships. You will help drive the group's client and market development strategy, researching and tracking opportunities, and will be heavily involved in compiling and maintaining international Arbitration matter-specific pitches and credential statements and contributing International Arbitration input to London-led and global panel pitches and, supporting these pitches from kick-off through to client presentations. On the marketing side, the successful applicant coordinate marketing initiatives and campaigns, compile legal directories and award submissions and work with the Events team to deliver key client events and seminars. The Business Development Executive will be joining a very strong team, providing an excellent environment in which to develop. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent academic background or equivalent allied to proven business development and marketing experience gained in a professional services firm, preferably in a law firm, to include pitch experience, and success in managing relationships with third parties. Some experience of and enthusiasm for working in International Arbitration will also be seen as highly beneficial.
