Based either in the UK or any of the firm’s mainland European offices, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a collaborative team player to join a leading international law firm with an ambitious growth agenda as a Sector Programme Lead for Life Sciences and Financial Services. The firm are looking for a talented senior business development professional to join their Business Development and Marketing team to support the firm's growing industry sector focus. The successful applicant will be joining a firm with a supportive, friendly and dynamic culture and will be working for a group of highly-engaged stakeholders across the firm’s network. You will enjoy a broad role requiring a strategic and commercial mindset and ability to demonstrate a high-level of initiative to translate emerging business issues and developments into opportunities. Working with the support of a Business Development Executive and collaborating closely with the firm's Digital Marketing, Events, Communications, Bids and international Business Development teams, you will need to be proactive in developing trusted advisor relationships with Sector Heads and will provide commercial, robust BD guidance to the entire sector group. Providing knowledge, insight and strategic guidance on sector developments and opportunities, you will be responsible for developing the sector strategy and respective sector sub-group business plans and must drive the execution of the strategy and its effective communication to the firm, target clients and the wider market. Client relationship management and targeting will be a key area of focus, as you will lead the industry sector client account development programme and participate in client listening with key sector clients to promote retention and growth. The role holder will drive the origination of BD opportunities, helping convert new opportunities into client work, and will support on RFPs and pitches. On the marketing side, you will lead on campaign development and delivery to achieve high BD activity for the sector and increase its profile in the market. The Sector Programme Lead will be required to carry out market research and horizon scanning to identify thought leadership and campaign opportunities and will subsequently project manage the full cycle of practice campaigns providing insight into ROI and performance. The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with an exceptional track record in delivering effective industry sector programmes from within a global professional services firm. A tenacious self-starter with the ability to both take ownership of a project and drive it to completion, the Sector Programme Lead will be a strong team player with outstanding verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management experience. Excellent digital skills and a sound understanding of digital and social media channels will also be essential.
