One of the world's leading law firms requires an experienced Business Development Manager, based in any of the firm's mainland European offices, to help deliver an ambitious regional sector strategy. This is a brand new role that has been created to support one of the firm's top global strategic priorities of accelerating the firm's position as the firm of choice across Europe, which will include further calibrating the contribution provided by the Corporate Enterprises client segment to driving profitable revenue growth. Working closely with the Regional Business Development Director and the global Corporate Enterprises segment lead, the role holder will be responsible for the implementation of the Corporate Enterprises regional strategy in Europe and will drive a revenue generation programme focused on winning more work and pan-European mandates. You will be required to monitor competitor activity across Europe, gathering intelligence on market share, the relative strength of the firm's pan-European brand and any new opportunities and threats. The successful applicant will hold Client Development Management responsibility for a number of strategic global or regional clients, which will include creating and driving the implementation of annual client plans and revenue objectives, relationship mapping, coordination of panel pitches and major cross-practice opportunities and gathering regular client feedback. On the marketing side, the Business Development Manager will need to ensure directory submissions are strongly managed and work closely with partners and marketing colleagues to monitor legal, sector and commercial developments in Europe and build successful marketing campaigns, thought leadership pieces and client events around hot topics in the marketplace. In order to perform this role successfully, candidates will need to possess previous experience of supporting a regional sector or product line team in a similar role working within a professional services firm and in depth experience of strategic account planning and managing complex panel RFPs. Knowledge of one or more of the Corporate Enterprises sectors and the European legal market more generally is highly desirable but not essential. A highly motivated self-starter and exceptional team player, committed to high performance, the Business Development Manager should hold a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline and must be confident, articulate, resilient and focused.
