An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and flexible Business Development Manager to join an elite global law firm to work as a core member of their Global Financial Institutions Industry Group Business Development team. The role holder will be the primary BD contact for the Global Financial Services Regulatory and Global Fintech groups and will be responsible for the client relationship management of select FIIG Key and Priority Clients. Working closely with the Global Industry Group Leaders, the Global Financial Institutions BD Lead, and the respective Partner Leads of the Global Financial Services Regulatory and Global Fintech groups, you will support and drive strategic growth initiatives, client development, market positioning and brand recognition for the industry group. Maintaining an overview of financial management of the practices and clients, you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the firm’s network and capabilities and seek opportunities to cross-sell the practice. The Business Development Manager will need to identify market trends and issues and develop and execute strategic plans to build and expand client relationships, and work with the Global Partner Leads and Core Team to drive objectives. Client Relationship Management will represent a key area of focus as you will act as a central point of contact and resource on relationships internally and externally, and you will be responsible for working with Global Relationship Partners to set and deliver business and relationship development goals and coordinate efforts across business services to support ongoing relationship efforts. You will also lead on or participate in significant FIIG, Financial Services Regulatory, and Fintech proposals and panels. From a marketing perspective, you will work in partnership with the Global Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute thought leadership campaigns aligned with the objectives of the group and will take a lead role in the submissions process for legal directories. In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the practice’s Business Development materials are current and organised and that efficient process is in place to capture information moving forward. Pragmatic, impactful and assertive, you will have a sound track-record of business development experience, preferably gained at an experienced manager level and within a law firm or large international organisation. The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate past success in managing key accounts in an international professional services context, with a focus in the financial services sector preferred, and in working with relationship partners on client development activities. An energetic team player, with a can-do attitude and outstanding organisation and communication skills, it is essential that the Business Development Manager enjoys working in a fast-paced, global environment and possesses the ability to interact with and influence people at all levels of the firm.
