An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced marketing and business development specialist to join a top law firm and be immersed in the firm’s Financial Markets practice and active as a valued part of a strong and genuinely international firm. This role represents an opportunity to be part of the Financial Markets team which is the firm’s largest and continues to grow significantly. Working as a collaborative member of the Marketing & Business Development team, the successful applicant will work closely with fee earners across the practice to advise on and drive the execution of marketing and business development initiatives across the Financial Markets International Practice Groups. Operating as an integral part of Marketing & Business Development, you will have a strong voice in the future planning of the practice group. The role will demand both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, with the ability to juggle both being key. The role holder will collaborate in the development of the business development budget and contribute to BD practice planning, subsequently working with the relevant fee earners and the Senior BD Manager to implement the plan. The Business Development Manager’s main duties will involve acting as a driving force behind the key client development strategy and targeting programme; managing practice specific tenders, proposals and pitches; leading the development of new product offerings; developing profile-raising campaigns; and overseeing the project management of directory and award submissions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive marketing and business development experience gained in a professional services environment, ideally in a law firm, to include demonstrable success in the end to end management of pitches. A commercially savvy team player, with an intelligent and pragmatic approach, the Business Development Manager must have a well-developed understanding of marketing and business development strategy and implementation and will possess a strong ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with a variety of individuals at different levels of seniority.
