An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Business Development Manager with strong knowledge of the Funds industry to join a leading global law firm who provide innovative legal services and business solutions to clients worldwide. Joining a dynamic team and reporting to the Director of International Business Development and Senior Business Development Manager of Investment Management, Tax and Corporate, you will be exposed to multiple practices and regions, providing the successful applicant with ample growth opportunities. You will be responsible for meeting the business and practice development needs of the firm, and will be expected to perform all your responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s lawyers and staff, whilst maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and research, and managing annual budgets, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute effective marketing and business development strategies for Investment Management, Tax and Corporate, including identifying new opportunities through market research and proactively seeking additional or new work. You will be expected to manage and build relationships with new and existing clients and also manage cross-practice initiatives and client and industry teams to expand business including identifying cross-selling opportunities and implementing structured client targeting and pitching. On the marketing side, the role holder will prepare directory and awards submissions, prepare and distribute marketing materials, manage posts and updates to the firm’s blogs and website and manage practice events and coordinate conferences, seminars and sponsorships to increase brand visibility. The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with relevant experience in marketing or business development, gained in a law firm environment. Previous experience working in Funds and a knowledge of corporate, investment management and tax will be critical. A committed team-player with a strong work ethic and service orientation, the Business Development Manager will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and project management skills and will enjoy working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
