Based in London or Abu Dhabi, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced BD specialist to join a leading law firm to carry out business development activities for the MENA Practice working with partners mainly based in Abu Dhabi, London and the U.S.. The Business Development Manager will enjoy a broad role, taking the lead in developing and proactively executing the MENA BD plan. You will be responsible for organising and attending partner meetings, facilitating practice group calls, creating agendas, documenting actions and following-up on actions agreed. Pitch support will represent a key element of the role. Sharing pitch best practice, you will support client presentations, prepare credentials and pitches, tailoring materials for individual clients and the region, and track, store and produce standard text and materials for pitches, ensuring consistency of pitch material and seeking improvements in quality. Undertaking research and analysis on markets and sectors, the successful applicant will be expected to develop an in-depth understanding of key clients, including their strategies and key challenges. The role holder will drive the client planning, review and feedback process for key clients in the region, in particular Sovereign Wealth Funds, and will also be tasked with managing data held on clients and managing the production of client-related business analysis including revenue and profitability, relationship mapping, market share, competitor activity and client needs analysis. On the marketing side, you will develop and maintain key messages and marketing materials and will work with the Marketing Communications team on profile raising and thought-leadership initiatives. You will be a high-energy and motivated graduate or equivalent with a proven track record of business development in an international law firm or professional services organisation. Flexible and adaptable, in order to work with ease cross-functionally and across borders, the ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to build credibility and trust with partners globally and excellent project management skills to manage multiple responsibilities amid competing priorities, tight deadlines and changing business demands and opportunities. The Business Development Manager will need a good understanding of the Middle East region and M&A, Corporate and Private Equity practices and will be fluent in both English and also in Arabic ideally.
