An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced business development professional to join one of the largest East London and Waterloo based law firms who specialise in a unique mix of corporate, trade union, private client and publicly funded work.
The role is stand alone and will be the first such appointment for the firm allowing the successful candidate a great opportunity to shape the role and really make their mark. The Business Development Manager will have the chance to influence the partnership and senior solicitors on the best strategy for profitable growth in a broad role covering both BD and Marketing. Having agreed a Business Development strategy with the Partners, the role holder will be tasked with drafting and Implementing a Business Development Plan and will be expected to take the necessary action to engage with businesses within the agreed sectors of the plan and present to such businesses alongside the appropriate Partner and Solicitor to win new business. Reviewing the firm's website and current marketing strategies to suggest possible improvements and ensuring the maximisation of the use of all social media platforms to widen the publicity of the firm will also be immediate key tasks. In addition, agreeing an annual budget for BD and marketing and monitoring against actual expenditure will represent an important element of this challenging role.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an established business development professional with strong BD and marketing experience gained most likely from a legal or professional services firm. You must be able to demonstrate experience of successfully supporting the delivering of a coherent marketing and business development strategy and development and management of key clients or key account programmes. The ideal candidate will also possess strong project management skills and outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with and influence senior individuals. The firm are happy to offer a 4 day week for more senior candidates.
