Business Development Manager, Private Equity (12 Month FTC) – World Leading Law Firm
One of the world's leading law firms requires a Business Development Manager for a full business development role supporting the firm's elite Private Equity practice on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to cover a period of maternity leave. The role sits within the Financial Investors business development and marketing team in London and the successful applicant will work closely with the Private Equity and wider Financial Investors team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of top lawyers in pursuit of highly sought-after instructions in London and across Continental Europe. The Business Development Manager will enjoy a varied role supporting the delivery and project management of business development, client focus and marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the group's annual business plan and BD budget and will work with the Head of London Private Equity to successfully communicate and implement the local strategy, including regular reporting, monitoring of progress and tracking against key KPIs. The role will have a client relationship focus as you will look after a small portfolio of PE clients, including creating client plans and revenue objectives, researching and analysing the client's business to identify new opportunities, relationship mapping, client feedback and leading team calls to monitor progress and actions. The successful applicant will support partners on internal and client facing BD and financial reports and lead on the production of partner and client briefing notes, capability statements and pitches and RFPs. The role holder will need to monitor legal and commercial developments and assets coming to market and build successful marketing campaigns around these. In addition, leading on the preparation of the group's key UK and European directory and award submissions and playing a key role in the organisation of client events and conferences will represent other key areas of focus. In order to perform this challenging role successfully, the candidate will have previous experience in professional services business development, ideally gained in a transactional practice area, to include a track record in client relationship management and success in supporting pitch activities. A highly motivated self-starter and exceptional team player, committed to high performance, the Business Development Manager should hold a degree, or equivalent, and must be confident, articulate, resilient and focused. A knowledge of Private Equity or any other financial investor sector is highly desirable but not essential. Leighton Taylor promotes diversity, equality and fair treatment in all aspects of our work.
