This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to join an independent law firm in a newly created role providing support to the firm’s Property team. The successful applicant will enjoy excellent hybrid working arrangements and a broad and challenging role, requiring a strong collegiate approach and a genuine enthusiasm for and understanding of the full BD and marketing mix required to deliver the firm’s ambitious strategy for growth. With responsibility for the Property budget, you will work with Partners to design and deliver a business development and marketing plan, including the identification of best opportunities and maximising the use of the team’s BD time and resources to win the most profitable work. This will be a hands-on role providing support to the firm, working across the full marketing and business development mix of initiatives including identifying potential targets, undertaking in-depth research and competitor analysis, driving cross-selling initiatives and contributing to the pitch process. On the marketing side, the role holder will be responsible for identifying and developing campaigns and thought leadership projects to support profile raising efforts aligned to the Property strategy. The Business Development Manager will also oversee an events programme and organise and evaluate strategic sponsorships, key memberships and speaking opportunities at external conferences and seminars. With a sound understanding of the full marketing mix, the ideal candidate will be energetic and creative and be able to demonstrate past success working in a similar role. Previous Property experience will be essential, ideally gained in a law firm or professional serves environment, at either manager or senior executive level. Flexible and adaptable with a high level of attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills, the Business Development Manager will possess a strong ability to liaise confidently with people at all levels, including partners and peers, and to manage competing priorities.
