This is a very exciting senior level opportunity based within one of the biggest names in the legal world, providing strategic business development support to the firm's Finance practice in UK, US and EMEA. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business development professional to make a significant impact on the strategic development of the firm's Finance division. Working closely with the Managing Partner, the role holder will focus on broadening and deepening the firm's client relationships and developing business in growth sectors and emerging markets. The successful applicant will lead a small but enthusiastic BD team, helping the division to fulfil its strategic objectives and planning and implementing a range of initiatives designed to improve the generation of business from new and existing clients, enhance the firm's standing with major clients and prospects and build the profile of the Finance division in the market. It will be your responsibility to drive forward initiatives that you feel would directly impact on the success of the business. This will involve liaising at the most senior levels of the partnership, to influence internal stakeholders, and will require a strategic handle allied to strong organisational and operational skills. You will need to grow a deep understanding of the various markets under your remit, keeping up-to-date with changes to ensure market facing activity is aligned to key trends, and operating closely with the senior management team to develop plans to target and win new business. Broader strategic marketing and communications will also fall under your remit. The ideal candidate will possess extensive strategic business development and marketing experience operating at board or partnership level within a global legal or professional services firm to include proven success managing a team. Commercially astute, with a strong track record in growing existing and new business, the head of Finance will need to demonstrate a strong client development focus and a thorough knowledge of the finance market including banks and debt funds.
