Marketing & BD Manager (12 Month FTC) – Global Law Firm
A bright and enthusiastic Marketing & BD Manager is required to join a global legal firm on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to run the marketing and business development activity for the firm's Business Division in Europe.
Key to the role will be to support the Business Division which includes the corporate, real estate & construction, intellectual property, charities, technology and banking & finance. The business division has a particular focus on advising clients on the deployment and investment of private capital, which is a key pivot of the divisional marketing plan. The role holder will mentor and manage a team of three individuals, keeping them engaged and motivated with regular catch-up meetings and will be expected to manage budgets for their teams, ensuring that marketing spend is used effectively. The Marketing & BD Manager will have responsibility for all marketing and business development initiatives relating to their groups and will work closely with specialists in Digital, PR, Internal Communications, Brand and CRM to deliver support to the groups. This role is holistic and as such the firm looking for someone who has the breadth of experience, from digital marketing through to sales and business development, required to carry out the majority of tasks to execute the group plans yourself. You will need to be happy leading market planning but will also relish rolling your sleeves up to get marketing assets, campaigns and pitches delivered for your teams. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in BD to cross sell and spot opportunities for their groups and teams to work more closely together and to collaborate. Specifically you will find ways to support the lawyers in making referrals of new work both in and out of the teams with which you work. In line with the strategic objective for the global marketing team, a major priority will be working towards improving international and cross-divisional and team integration, both with marketing colleagues across offices but also by encouraging groups to work more effectively internationally. With your team you will also manage, execute and review legal directory submissions for selected practices in the region.
The ideal candidate will be a bright graduate or equivalent with previous relevant experience working within professional services firms, to include project management, pitching and partner coaching and business planning experience at a strategic leve. The Marketing & BD Manager will be a positive influence in the marketing and business development team and will need to demonstrate commercial credibility and gravitas, so as to enhance the overall perception of marketing within the firm and with the Business Division leadership. In addition you will need to bring passion and enthusiasm to your work, will be alive to opportunities and have the persistence and dedication to see ideas through to execution.
