A modern, progressive and commercially-oriented City legal services business is looking for a senior Communications professional to join a friendly, collaborative and creative team as PR & Communications Manager. Geographically, this role is responsible for PR & Communications strategy and delivery primarily in the UK, but also in a supportive capacity for Brand, Marketing and Sales representatives in Asia. As a key member of the BMS team, currently 17 strong in the UK, you will be integral to its success and impact, both externally and internally. Relationships with the Director of Brand, Marketing & Sales, the Senior Marketing Communications Manager, the Digital team, the Design team and other team members involved in internal communications will be particularly important. The role holder will have significant face time with senior people across the firm, including the Managing Partner, members of the Partnership Executive Committee, partners leading the firm's key areas of focus, and all of the Business Services Directors, in particular the People & Talent team. As such, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a major impact very quickly. The PR & Communications Manager will be expected to deploy PR and broader communications tactics in pursuit of positioning the firm as an expert in it chosen fields. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic PR plans for teams across the firm, as well as the firm as a whole, and also developing and delivering strategic internal and external communications plans, making use of a range of media. The successful candidate must integrate PR & communications with other marketing tactics to achieve maximum impact in the market and build and foster profitable relations with key journalists and media outlets across the firm's target markets. You will also provide copywriting and editorial resource and guidance in support of firm and practice area business goals. Ideal candidates will have proven experience of successfully developing and delivering PR and Communications strategies within a professional services environment, ideally in the legal sector. The role would suit a confident and well-organised self-starter, with a strong ability to gain the respect and trust of Partners and business services colleagues at all levels of seniority. The PR & Communications Manager will also be adept at scenario planning and "seeing round corners", possess excellent editorial and writing skills, with ability to flex across a number of styles, and have strong existing relationships with key target media.
