A highly impressive global law firm are looking for an outstanding Senior Business Development Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract basis, to manage the strategic focus of the In-Market operations of the Banking & Finance Practice Group in the London office. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a real difference in one of the most progressive legal brands out there.
The Senior Business Development Manager will co-ordinate office resources and develop a strategic focused, market-leading BD, marketing and communications business-partnering capability which enables the Group in the London office to win, retain and grow business. The successful candidate will be working side by side with partners and leadership to develop the growth plan for the Practice Group, ensuring that the firm's marketing captures their unique value proposition, and identifying and prioritising the key client opportunities, marketing initiatives and service lines of the group. This will involves close collaboration with various other practices in the London office as well as offices across EMEA to enhance cross-selling opportunities to promote the firm's overall transactional capabilities as appropriate. It is essential for the role holder to have a strong client focus and be focused on clients that will enhance revenue and profitability. You will manage a small team locally and liaise with multiple stakeholders across the firm to identify the firm's competitive advantages and bring these to life in marketing materials, presentations and pitches. The role holder will be expected to build and maintain close working relationships with colleagues in expert functions and end-to end services to ensure the practice groups are benefitting from best practice and latest thinking elsewhere in the firm and must ensure the firm captures feedback, matter experience, client contacts and business development leads to enable the practice to promote itself effectively and to grow its business. The successful applicant will also be responsible for leading and developing the junior members of the team.
This role would suit a very bright graduate or equivalent, with significant proven marketing and business development experience gained ideally in another large law or professional services firm to include previous experience of working and developing relationships with senior stakeholders. The firm is seeking someone who will thrive working in a fast paced, commercially-focused environment and who can demonstrate a highly flexible and adaptable approach as the role will require the individual to multitask and employ strong judgment, the ability to make well-reasoned, independent decisions and outstanding communication skills. The Senior Business Development Manager will also be a highly credible individual with gravitas and a high level of strategic awareness of business and commercial issues.
