One of the most dynamic international legal firms are looking for an outstanding Senior Business Development Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to manage the strategic focus of the in-market operations of the Tax Practice Group in the London office This is an outstanding opportunity to make a real difference in one of the most progressive legal brands out there. The Senior Business Development Manager will co-ordinate office resources and develop a strategy focused, market-leading BD, marketing and communications business-partnering capability which enables the Group in the London office to win, retain and grow business. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and developing a team of five business development managers and executives and will liaise with multiple stakeholders to identify the firm's competitive advantages and bring these to life in marketing materials, presentations and pitches. You will work side by side with partners to develop a growth plan for the Practice Group, including key client opportunities, marketing and communications campaigns, priority revenue generating service lines and initiatives and key events. This will involve close collaboration with various other practices in the London offices as well as offices across EMEA to enhance cross-selling opportunities to promote the firm's market leading Tax Practice. It is essential for the role holder to have a strong client focus and be focused on clients that will enhance revenue and profitability. You will be expected to build and maintain close working relationships with colleagues in expert functions and end-to end services to ensure the practice groups are benefitting from best practice and latest thinking elsewhere in the firm and must ensure the firm captures feedback, matter experience, client contacts and business development leads to enable the practice to promote itself effectively and to grow its business. This role would suit a very bright graduate or equivalent, with significant proven marketing and business development experience gained ideally in another large law or professional services firm to include previous experience of working and developing relationships with senior stakeholders and of managing a team. The firm is seeking someone who will thrive on working in a fast paced, commercially-focused environment and who can demonstrate a highly flexible and adaptable approach as the role will require the individual to multitask, employ strong judgment and make well-reasoned, independent decisions. The Senior Business Development Manager will also be a highly credible individual with gravitas and a high level of strategic awareness of business and commercial issues.
