A fantastic opening has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager in a primary global law firm. Created to support the firm’s client strategy, this will be a very exciting role with a pursuits focus, working at the leading edge of the firm’s Client Growth Portfolio. The successful applicant will work across multiple sectors and client teams, driving growth, pursuing opportunities globally and defining and establishing pursuits best practice and structure across a portfolio of the firm’s future growth clients. Once established, you will work more intensely with a cohort of approximately 5 clients to provide coaching on the development of the client relationship. The objective is not to be established as a dedicated CRM to these clients, but to work with the relevant Client Relationship Partners to assist with strategy, identify opportunities and specific areas for growth, including shaping the core team to deliver against these opportunities, and to build a regular discipline of client team meetings focused on pursuing opportunities. The Senior Business Development Manager will work in collaboration with broader Clients & Sectors colleagues to leverage learnings from other segment portfolios and will be required to create an internal community to share ideas and leverage successes. The role holder will also work closely with the strategic insights team and other business services groups to qualify opportunities and ensure the firm’s resources are focused in the right areas. With a professional and commercial approach to business, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working in a similar business development role with a strong pursuits focus and will be able to demonstrate previous success in the development of client relationships gained whilst working within a professional services or large corporate environment. A highly motivated, collaborative and energetic self-starter who persistently and positively drives momentum, the Senior Business Development Manager will need strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders and clients and a talent for connecting and leveraging internal networks. The confidence and gravitas to have commercial conversations with clients and the presence to present expertly at Executive level will be prerequisite.
