The successful applicant will be joining the firm's EMEA Strategic Bids Team, a centre of excellence for bidding, providing support to the business to win and retain the firm's most important and profitable mandates and legal panel appointments. This is an exciting time to join a fast-paced, dynamic team who are seen as specialist bid advisers in an extremely competitive environment. The position will be high profile with senior stakeholder engagement and management required throughout. The role holder will guide the partnership, working and influencing strategically to provide direction across the entire bids process. Reporting to the regional Head of Bids, you will play a key role leading opportunities cohesively across the firm’s global network, from qualification through to client feedback. Tasked with developing the approach to both the technical and commercial aspects of bids, you will need to understand, critique and influence proposed approaches to meeting clients’ requirements, establish and achieve timelines, approvals and governance, and ensure content is fit-for-purpose. Gathering and collating client feedback to create a cycle of continuous improvement will be a key focus of this challenging role. The Senior Strategic Bids Manager will also have responsibility for the day-to-day management and work allocation of a team of bid professionals and will both coach the team and help them to develop their core bid management skills. To fulfil the requirements of the role, you will need to be an innovative and commercial self-starter, with outstanding project management skills and a strong ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. The Senior Strategic Bids Manager will have proven bid management experience, working on multiple bids concurrently, preferably in a legal services firm. With strong influencing skills and the ability to liaise confidently and build relationships with people at all levels of the organisation, the ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate past success in leading and coaching a team of bid professionals at all levels.
